John T. FINNEY, 82, resident of Fairfield for 26 years, passed away at the Jefferson county hospital at 1:30 a.m. today. He had been in failing health the past two years and was taken from his home, 301 North Court, to the hospital last Sunday.
Last rites will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of Rev. Father H. M. Thoman. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. FINNEY was born February 10, 1864, in Missouri and was a farmer until his retirement. He moved to Fairfield from Shelbina, Missouri, 26 years ago. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
Mr. FINNEY is survived by the following children: Edward J. FINNEY, Quincy, Ill.; Mary C. FINNEY, Mrs. P. L. O'NEIL (sic - O'NEILL) and John K. FINNEY, all of Fairfield. A granddaughter, Patricia FINEY (sic), also survives.
His wife preceded him in death July 8, 1932.
