Burial In Fairfield For Harry C. FAIR

Relatives in this city received word today that Harry C. FAIR passed away last night in a hospital at Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mrs. FAIR is the former Dell CHIDESTER, sister of Miss June CHIDESTER and Mrs. Harry CROW of Fairfield.

Mr. FAIR had been seriously ill for the past two years.

Following funeral services at Fort Wayne, the body will be brought to Fairfield, arriving Sunday morning. Private services will be held at the Monger funeral home, Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

Services Sunday For Harry C. FAIR

Private funeral services for Harry C. FAIR who passed away in a Fort Wayne, Indiana, hospital Thursday night, will be held at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the Monger funeral home.

Mr. (sic - Mrs.) FAIR is a sister of Miss June CHIDESTER and Mrs. Harry CROW of Fairfield.

Private Services For Harry C. FAIR Held Here Sunday Morning

Mrs. Harry C. FAIR of Fort Wayne, Ind., with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John NAGELSEN and Jack Jr., who accompanied the body of the late Mr. FAIR here for burial Sunday morning, are remaining a few days to visit in the homes of Mrs. FAIR's sisters, June CHIDESTER and Mr. and Mrs. Harry CROW.

Others from out of town attending the private interment services held at 10 a.m. at the Monger funeral home included two brothers, Drury FAIR, Evanston, Ill.; Alt FAIR and Mrs. FAIR, Council Bluffs; John J. TEETER, Westerville, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Harold FAIR, Des Moines; Mrs. Clyde ADAMS and Mr. and Mrs. Roy JOHNSON, Ottumwa; and Mr. and Mrs. Watt ENYART, Newton. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery in the family lot beside a son, Harry Clarence, and a daughter, Mary Ellen, who preceded their father in death. S. P. Williamson, pastor of the First Christian church, was in charge.

Mr. FAIR, well known in business and financial circles, was the son of George and Virginia FAIR. He was born in Agency, Ia. in 1880 (sic - 1879). At the time of his marriage to a former local girl, Della CHIDESTER, in 1907, he was associated in the mining business wit his father in Poteau, Okla. Shortly after the marriage Mr. FAIR became identified with the Harris Trust and Savings Bank of Chicago which he continued until 1926 when the family moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., where he was associated with the First National bank as vice president. Later he helped organize the hospitalization benefit association in which he was engaged as executive director at the time of his retirement two years ago, due to ill health. Mr. FAIR passed away suddenly Thursday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Fort Wayne Lutheran hospital where he had entered only a few hours earlier in the afternoon. His wife, a graduate of Parsons college, one daughter, and one grandson survive.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.216. Wife Della died in 1957 and was buried with him. Although his obituary notes that he was born in 1880, his gravestone gives 1879 as the year of birth. His death certificate, with info given by wife Della, notes his birthdate as June 4, 1879.
