DEBRA MARIE GRIFFIN NUCKOLLS
Pleasant Plain

Debra Marie GRIFFIN NUCKOLLS, 56, of Pleasant Plain, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at her home.

Open visitation for family and friends to sign the register book will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Behner Funeral Home. Family will not be present.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Noah's Ark or VFW and mailed to 1004 Grand Park Drive, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Debra was born February 6, 1966, in Fairfield to Michael C. and Phena "Marie" (DROZ) GRIFFIN.

Debra graduated from Fairfield High School in 1984. She was FHS girls softball manager for 1 year, FHS marching band 4 years, All Iowa Drill team for two years and Captain pom-pom squad for one year. Debra received FHS Classman Writer of the Year Award in 1983 and hosted SE Iowa Administrative Secretary Banquet in 1986. Debra was also French Club treasurer for 4 years.

After high school, Debra attended the Kirkwood Community College graduating Phi Theta Kappa and on the Dean's list in Legal Assistant/Paralegal and Associates of Arts Degree in 1991. She received the President's List for GPA. After graduating, she used her degree by working from March 1990 to October 1991 at IDS Financial Services in Cedar Rapids, November 1991 to April 1992 at Pieper Law Office/Jefferson County Abstract Company in Fairfield; Wal-Mart Warehouse from July 1992 to March 1997 in Mt. Pleasant; Books Are Fun, Ltd., Reader's Digest from March 1997 to October 2008; and Cambridge Investment Research from October 2008 to January 2013.

Some of Debra interests were collecting figurines, reading, writing poems and stories. She was also a Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Debra loved her dog Rory and cats Nova and Ivy.

Debra will be missed by her parents, Michael and Marie; many aunts, uncles and cousins; her dog, Rory; and cats, Nova and Ivy.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
