FairfieldJerry Joseph SIRDOREUS, 75, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at Vista Woods Care Center, Ottumwa, Iowa (note: in Wapello Co., IA).
Visitation for family and friends is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Nick Adam officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Noah's Ark or Trojan Booster Club and mailed to Ann SIRDOREUS, 2408 Glasgow Road, Fairfield, IA 52556.
Jerry was born June 25, 1946, to Clarence D and Thelma (GRISSOM) SIRDOREUS in Fairfield, Iowa. He married Annabelle "Ann" KESSEL on June 1, 1968, in Fairfield. This last year they were married 53 years.
Jerry graduated from FHS Class 1964. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War (sic - Vietnam Conflict). Jerry worked at Louden - ACCO for 38 years, JCHC 8 years and St. Mary Catholic Church for 11 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Jerry loved being outdoors whenever possible. Some of his interests were hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and gardening. He followed the Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoyed playing cards. Most mportant was spending time with his family. He and Ann followed their children and grandchildren sporting activities. Jerry's love for family extended to his nieces, nephews and their families. He enjoyed the recent arrival of his new great-great-nephew. Jerry also enjoyed time with friends.
Jerry will be missed by his wife, Ann of Fairfield; children, Kay KEMP (CC. Shivvers), Dan (Heidi) SIRDOREUS and Jim (Jessica) SIRDOREUS; six grandchildren, Nikolas KEMP, San KEMP, Colton SIRDOREUS, Carson SIRDOREUS, Ben SIRDOREUS and Norah SIRDOREUS; sister, Mary (Tim) TEDROW; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Thelma; brother, Don; sister-in-law, Mary GARRETSON; and nephew, Ryan GARRETSON.
