PATRICIA ANN HANNA
Batavia

Patricia Ann HANNA, 74, of Batavia, died at 7:02 a.m. December 20, 2021, at home.

She was born December 29, 1946, in Ottumwa, to Paul and Urcel RICHMOND RACHFORD. Patty married her best friend and soul mate, Larry R. HANNA on June 28, 1969, and he preceded her in death on August 6, 1989 (sic - Aug. 4th).

A 1965 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Patty had worked at John Morrell & Co. She then became a stay-at-home mom, raising her girls. Patty worked as a secretary for Cardinal Community Schools, retiring in 2006.

She enjoyed mowing, camping, bowling, crafting, planting flowers and volunteering at the Wapello County 4-H grounds especially the Enchanted Forest. Patty loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.

Surviving are her daughters, Darcy (Kevin) HANNA-McDANIEL and Julie (Steve) NORRIS; three grandchildren, Jenna and Laney NORRIS and Jaxon McDANIEL; lifelong best friend, Sharon Adamson; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jon) LAURICH of Vass, NC; and several nephews, including Rick (Mikki) RACHFORD, Chris (Holly) RACHFORD, Matt (Amanda) LAURICH and Aaron (Shelley) LAURICH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leon, Harvey and Billy RACHFORD; uncle, Bernie RACHFORD; sister-in-law, Ellen "Sis" RACHFORD; and beloved dog, Dolly.

Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, December 23, at Reece Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page.

Cremation will follow the service with inurnment in the Batavia Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Wapello County 4-H for Enchanted Forest.
