July 21, 1929 - Nov. 6, 2021

Dorothy (DANIELSON) TRUHLSEN, 92, longtime resident of Omaha, Neb., died Nov. 6, 2021. Dorothy "Dottie" was born July 21, 1929, in Fairfield, Iowa. She was the daughter of Frank and Martha BAUER DANIELSON.

Dottie graduated from high school in Fairfield, Iowa, and received an Accounting Degree from the University of Iowa. She lived in Denison, Iowa, and co-owned and operated Johnson Drug for 26 years. She met and married Dr. Stanley M. TRUHLSEN, and they moved to Omaha, where they delighted in life's joys and adventures for over 40 years.

Dottie had four children: Sarah GORDON (Calvin), Carl JOHNSON III (Michelle), Jane JOHNSON-WHITELAW (Scott) and Dan JOHNSON (Leslie). Dottie loved receiving videos, phone calls and visits from her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Her hobbies included playing golf, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Dottie and Stan kept very busy in the community with numerous philanthropic activities. They were long time members of Countryside Community Church and Omaha Country Club, as well as Birnam Wood Country Club in Montecito, Calif. Family and friends have great memories of spending time at the cottage in Okoboji, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth; and brothers, Chester and Charles. Dottie is survived by her husband, Stan; children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
