Rollie EDWARDS Rites Wednesday

Rollie E. EDWARDS, 78, 307 E. Jefferson St., died Sunday at 11:40 p. m. at the Jefferson County hospital. He was taken to the hospital Friday evening after suffering a stroke.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in harge of the Rev. Donald Eagle. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by Jefferson Lodge No. 4 IOOF.

EDWARDS had been a resident of Fairfield for 68 years. He was employed at the Fairfield Laundry for 32 years prior to his retirement.

EDWARDS was born Jan. 23, 1882 at Merrimac, the son of William and Elizabeth HAWTHORNE EDWARDS. He was married to Bessie HUTCHINSON May 15, 1920.

He was a member of the Methodist church. He was recording secretary of the lodal Odd Fellows lodge and had held a number of offices in the IOOF, including that of noble grand and district deputy grand master.

Surviving are his wife and two children: Elmer EDWARDS, Des Moines; and Mrs. Mabel JACKSON, San Rafael, Calif. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Note: Buried in Lot 3rd.071. Rollie was first married to Elsie M. MILLHOUSE, who died in 1909 and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery as well. Second wife Bessie died in 1964 and was buried with Rollie.
