DOUTHART Rites Are Wednesday

William DOUTHART, 44, Fairfield route 3, died Saturday at 8:15 p.m. at Veterans hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA) where he had been a patient since April 13.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. Max Lumsdon.

Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

DOUTHART was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas with the U.S. Air Force. He was formerly employed at the Harper Brush company. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.

DOUTHART was born Sept. 17, 1916 at Cullison, Kan., the son of Fred and Fern PRATT DOUTHART. He was married Nov. 22, 1947 to Verna McCARTY. Most of his life was spent in Jefferson and Van Buren counties.

Surviving are his wife and four children, Carol Ann, William Jr., Connie Sue and Linda Marie, all at home. Also surviving are his parets, who now reside in Bonaparte; and the following brothers and sisters:

Mrs. Alma BARR and Mrs. Helen PUFFINBARGER, both of Pleasant Plain; Ralph DOUTHART, Ottumwa; Kenneth DOUTHART and Mrs. Mildred McFARLAND, Bonaparte; Milton DOUTHART, Fort Madison; Cortland DOUTHART, Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Deloris HOUSER, Washington state.
