LAURA CHRISTINE DEANGELIS
Fairfield

Laura DeANGELIS, 38, died in her home in Denver, Colo., on Monday, July 12, 2021. There will be a Celebration of Laura's life at the Fishback & Stephenson Cider House on Saturday, July 24, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Laura was born in Florham Park, N.J., and moved to Fairfield, Iowa, with her parents, Dick and Karen DeANGELIS, at the age of six months. She attended Maharishi School and received a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa and a Master of Science in Education from Peru State College.

Laura was a dynamic teacher from 2003-2013, serving as the 7th Grade Pre-Algebra Teacher at Center School District in Kansas City, Mo. In her final years in Kansas City, she taught 5th grade. Laura also coached other teachers in technology and professional development at Grandview CSD4 in KC.

She met the love of her life, Kahari STEWART, while at Iowa, but things got serious in 2011 and they left for new horizons in Denver, Colo., in 2013. There, Laura was the Lead Server and Event Coordinator at Sushi Den/Izakaya. She loved the people she worked with and met there. Laura always stayed in very close contact with her parents and four siblings. She loved music, dancing, sports and taking walks in the mountains.

Left to share Laura's love of life is her fiance, Kahari STEWART of Denver, Colo.; her parents, Dick and Karen DeANGELIS of Fairfield, Iowa; her sister, Monica (Eric) FOCHT of Lake Estling, N.J.; her brothers, John (Kirstin) of Mountain View, Calif., Paul (Anna) of Mountain View, Calif., and Michael (fiancee Clare) of Denver, Colo.; and grandmothers, Marjolaine DeANGELIS of Tucson, Ariz., and Jean KRAFT of Denver, Colo. Laura also had several loving uncles, aunts, cousins and a long list of friends whose lives she impacted through her positive, strong, kind and loving example and her big smile which would light up the room.

Laura will be deeply missed.
