Mrs. Nellie H. DAVIS, 78, widow of the late Dr. S. K. DAVIS, Libertyville, died early Sunday morning while enroute to the Jefferson county hospital. She became ill about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, and when her condition became serious about 1:30 a.m., an ambulance was called and she died while being brought to Fairfield.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist church in Libertyville. Rev. C. R. Ott will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will be taken to the church in Libertyville from the Monger funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. DAVIS was a lifetime resident of Jefferson county and well known in the community. She was born June 21, 1869, in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Racena HEWITT. She was united in marriage to S. K. DAVIS in 1890 at Fairfield.
Mrs. DAVIS had lived the past 57 years in Libertyville. She started a community library there several years ago known as the Nellie Davis library. It was recently discontinued.
She is survived by one son, Dr. Austin C. DAVIS, Rochester, two granddaughters, two grandsons and three great grandchildren. One son preceded her in death in 1920.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, ss.To All Whom It May Concern,
You Are Hereby Notified, That an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Nellie H. DAVIS, Deceased dated Oct. 5, 1945, having been this day filed, opened and read, Wednesday the 26th day of March, 1947, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court; and at 9:30 o'clock A. M., of the day above mentioned all person interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause, if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.
