WashingtonJerry Lee "Cowboy" CLINE, 79, of Washington, died May 15, 2021, at his home in Washington (note: in Washington Co., IA). He was born in Pleasant Plain, Iowa, to Walter Earl and Mabel SHULL CLINE. Jerry grew up in the Washington/Brighton area, attended Walnut Country School and graduated from Washington High School in 1960. He lived in the Brighton and Washington area all of his life. He had worked in the Louden foundry, drove a truck for Scheeler Brothers for 11 years and for RFK Transportation Co. of Cedar Rapids for 16 years. He retired in 1999. Jerry enjoyed playing cards.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Alice GARCIA of Silvis, Ill.; brother-in-law, Robert SHELANGOSKI of Brighton; sister-in-law, Donna CLINE, Washington; and a nephew, nieces, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothersm (sic) Raymond, Richard, Russell, Dale, Walter and Kenneth CLINE; his sister, Carrol SHELANGOSKI; and two nieces and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Brighton First Church of God with Pastors Rick Hughes and Ryan Meader officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery (note: in Brighton, Washington Co., IA). Memorials to the Brighton Volunteer First Responders and may be left at the church or mailed to the family: Roberta Sieren, 414 S. Gilbert St., Keota, IA 52248. A brief visitation will be held immediately preceding the service beginning at 2 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Brighton.
