DEATH CLAIMS LOCAL WOMAN

Carrie T. MITCHELL CULP, 81, who has been in failing health for the past 12 years, passed away Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. at the Jefferson county hospital. She broke her hip in July, 1946 and has been in the hospital since that time.

Mrs. CULP, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth TOOLE MITCHELL, was born March 17, 1866, in Jefferson county and has been a resident here for nearly her entire life. She married Ellis E. CULP, who proceded (sic) her in death July 1, 1934.

Survivors include three (sic) children: Mrs. Irma CARTER, Savannah, Ill.; Ray of Iowa City; Arthur, in the army at Springfield, Ill.; and Mrs. Betty RIGGS of Clinton; one brother, Thomas MITCHELL of San Francisco; one sister, Mrs. U. B. ROGERS of Des Moines. One daughter in infancy also preceded her in death.

The body is at the Hoskins Funeral home. Last rites are pending.

CULP Rites Will Be Saturday Afternoon

Last rites for Carrie T. MITCHELL CULP, local resident who passed away at the Jefferson county hospital Thursday morning, will be Saturday afternoon.

The services will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. L. H. Scherer in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. CULP was a member of the Episcopal church.
