A. CULBERTSON DIES TODAY
Young Electrician had been in poor health during past year

John Arthur CULBERTSON, 204½ W. Burlington died in the Jefferson county hospital at 9:00 this morning. He was 31 years old. Mr. CULBERTSON had been in poor health during the past year, and seriously ill for six weeks.

He leaves his wife, Bernice GIBSON CULBERTSON, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. CULBERTSON, 701 E. Adams street, one brother Vern and two sisters, Mrs. W. C. KEMP of Fairfield, and Carrie Bell CULBERTSON of Davenport.

He was a partner in the firm of Culbertson Brothers, electricians. Mr. CULBERTSON was a member of the Christian church, the Elks club ,and the Junior Chamber of Commerce (sic).

The body is at the Hoskins Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Junior Chamber Men Plan to Meet For CULBERTSON Funeral

Funeral services for John Arthur CULBERTSON, who died Wednesday morning in the Jefferson county hospital, will be held at the Hoskins Funeral Home at 2:00 Friday afternoon, in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson.

Officers of the Junior Chamber of Commerce suggest that all members meet at the Senior Chamber office at 1:45 tomorrow, to attend the funeral in a body. CULBERTSON was a member of this organization.

OBITUARY

ARTHUR CULBERTSON

John Arthur, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. CULBERTSON, was born in the Cross Lanes vicinity near Fairfield on June 19, 1906.

He obtained his education from the rural schools and entered the high school in Fairfield and was graduated in 1926.

He was employed by the Dexter Company as an electricial for some time, also by the John Deere Company of Waterloo, then returned to Fairfield and worked with the Fairfield Electric Company. Later he worked with various electricians, lastly going into business with his brother Vern.

He was united in marriage to Bernice GIBSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles GIBSON on October 30, 1931. He became a member of the First christian church at the age of ten years. To know Arthur was to love him. He made many friends in his quiet conscientious way.

A young man of only 31 years of age, he passed away at the Jefferson County Hospital on Wednesday morning, April 20. His sickness had extended over a period of more than a year. The surviving loved ones are his wife Mrs. Bernice CULBERTSON, his father and mother, Mrs. and Mrs. Harry B. CULBERTSON, two sisters, Mrs. Warren KEMP and Carrie Belle, and one brother Verne. These with a large number of close relatives and friends will mourn the untimely passing of this young man.

Funeral services were held from the Hoskins Funeral Home on Friday afternoon, conducted by S. P. Williamson, minister of the First christian church of Fairfield. Musical selections were played during the service by Mrs. W. M. Stever, and George VanNostrand sang two numbers "Face To Face" and "In the Garden of Tomorrow.' Pallbearers were members of the Elks lodge and the committal ritual was read at the graveside in Evergreen cemetery.
