Lester CROWE dies at 86

Lester L. CROWE, 1103 S. Fifth, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient since Dec. 31.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazarene and friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience.

CROWE had made his home in Fairfield for the past 62 years during which he was engaged in farming, carpentry and the trucking business.

Lester L. CROWE, 86, was born Dec. 16, 1896, near Princeville, Ill., the son of William Henry and Eugenia BRADY CROWE.

While a small child the family moved to Ottumwa where he was reared and educated.

He was married to Gladys ULM Jan. 6, 1921 in Fairfield where he has lived his entire married life. His wife survives.

In addition CROWE is survived by a brother, Alva CROWE, Highland Center; and two sisters, Florence CROWE, Ottumwa, and Nellie CROSS, Jefferson.

CROWE was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
