MRS. CRANDALL IS SUMMONED
Funeral For Fairfield woman To Be Wednesday At Murray Home

Mrs. Bertha E. CRANDALL, wife of T. R. CRANDALL of Fairfield, died yesterday at her home 611 S. Third St., here at 8:20 p.m. She had been in failing health for some time.

Mrs. CRANDALL was born in Chula, Mo., Nov. 5, 1891. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Courtney and Perry, and one daughter Martha Jane, all at home. She also leaves her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. P. F. ALLEN of Denver, Colo., one brother K. P. ALLEN of Arlington, Wash., and two sisters, Mrs. S. W. ISHMAEL, and Mrs. C. W. SCHROEDER, both of Denver, Colo.

The CRANDALL family moved to Fairfield from Ottumwa 18 years ago where Mr. CRANDALL has since operated the Crandall Automotive and Radio service shop.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow August 12, at the Murray Funeral home in Fairfield in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

CRANDALL RITES HELD YESTERDAY AT MURRAY HOME

Funeral services for Mrs. T. R. CRANDALL, who passed away at her home here early Monday evening, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Murray Funeral home.

Rev. S. P. Williamson had charge of the services which were attended by a capacity crowd of relatives and friends of the family. The Loyal Women's class of the first Christian church of which Mrs. CRANDALL was a member and the Boy Scout troop of which Perry CRANDALL is assistant scoutmaster, also attended in a body.

Mrs. L. W. Van Nostrand and Mrs. William Stever sang "In the Garden," and "No Night There" accompanied on the piano by Miss Hannah Van Nostrand.

The casket was banked with the many lovely floral offerings sent by relatives and friends. The pall bearers were William Stever O. A. Harper, Clayton Spratt, Harry LaRue, J. N. Calhoun, and Norvell Switzer. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

Note: Buried in Lot 3rd.086½. Husband Thomas Roy CRANDALL died in 1943 and is buried with her. The year of birth on her gravestone is 1890, in contrast to her obituary. Her Death Certificate gives her birthdate as November 5, 1891.
