RITES TUESDAY FOR DR. H. COX

Dr. Hubert COX, 53, retired osteopath, passed away in his apartment at the Turner hotel Saturday at 1:30 p.m. He had been in failing health for the past five years.

Last rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of Dr. L. H. Scheerer. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

A native of Jefferson county, Dr. COX left this community when a young man and after completing his education, practiced for 23 years at Canton, Ohio. When his health failed him, he retired and returned to Fairfield a year ago.

He was born November 4, 1893, in Jefferson county, the son of the late Charles L. and Anna M. CASE COX. He was united in marriage to Gladys M. BRANDMEYER. Dr. COX was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge and Optimist club at Canton, and of the American Osteopathy association.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Marjorie Marie, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. A. L. SODERGREN, Minnie COX and Mrs. A. E. LABAGH, all of Fairfield; C. L. COX, Memphis, Missouri; and Mrs. Emmett PEACOCK, Mt. Sterling. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

... --In the group of relatives and friends who attended the funeral services Tuesday for Dr. Hubert COX were Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Shook, Mr. M. E. Campbell and Virgil COX of Mt. Pleasant, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. COX of Memphis, Mo., Mrs. Emmett PEACOCK of Mt. Sterling. All returned to their homes Tuesday evening with the exception of Mrs. PEACOCK who remained overnight with her sister, Mrs. A. L. SODERGREN, 404 N. Fifth street.
