Front Page, Column 1DANIEL COX DIED AT COUNTY HOME
Succumbed to Pneumonia After Several Days Of Illness.Daniel COX passed away yesterday morning at the County Home, after a few days illness of pneumonia.
Although he had been in poor health the last several days his condition was not considered serious until a short time before his death. He was 86 years of age.
Mr. COX was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, June 16th, 1836, where he grew to manhood. In the first years of his married life he came to Fairfield and since that time had made his home here. Following the death of his wife a number of years ago, he lived with his son William, who died two years ago, and since that time has been a resident of the County Home. The only relatives who survive him are Bert COX, a son, and three grandchildren, Francis, Velma and Dale COX, and a sister Mrs. Rachel DESPAIN.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at ten o'clock from the home of Mrs. Rachel DESPAIN, 504 West Jefferson street, and will be in charge of Rev. O. B. Devine of the Free Methodist church. The body will be laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.
