Stockport

David Clarence DENNEY, 76, of Stockport, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Van Buren County Hospital. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at Behner Funeral Home prior to the service. Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. with words of comfort by Tom Cope. Inurnment will be at a later date in Brethren Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Every Step Hospice. Memorials may be left at the funeral or mailed to Vera DENNEY, 11200 Violet Ave,, Stockport, IA 52651.

David was born Aug. 10, 1944, in Batavia to Clarence and Ruth (COOKSEY) DENNEY. He married Vera CARR on April 30, 1965. This last year they celebrated 55 years of marriage.

David worked for 38 years at the Jefferson County Hospital as Materials Management. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. David enjoyed working outside doing yard work. Some of his other interests were going to antique shops, watching sports TV, listening to music and reading, with Louis L'Amour being his favorite author. Most important to David was spending time with his family and friends. He and Vera would follow their kids and grandkids school activities (sic).

David will be missed by his wife, Vera of Stockport; three sons, Mark (Lisa) DENNEY of Keosauqua, Jon (Melinda) DENNEY of Ankeny and Jeremy DENNEY of Livonia, Mo.; four grandchildrenm Olivia, Ethan, Austin and Cassidy DENNEY; three sisters, Carolyn BLACK of Madrid, Iowa, Brenda (Fred) EVERETT of Corydon, Iowa, and Pat (B.R.) POOLE of Stockport, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruth; and brother-in-law, Darrell BLACK.
