Kay LaVonne LYON was born on January 8, 1942, in Eldon, IA, to Lawrence and Audrey MAJOR WILKINSON. She attended school in Eldon where she graduated with the Eldon High School Class of 1960. On May 27, 1962, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Howard LYON. Together, they became the loving parents of two daughters, Linda and Cindy. While the children were young Kay was a stay at home mom and homemaker. As the girls got older, Kay began working as the librarian at the Eldon Public Library where she worked until her retirement. She was a long-time member of the Eldon Christian Church where she raised her family. She remained active in the church until she and Howard moved to Fairfield to be closer to family. When Kay had time to herself, she enjoyed picking up a good book or playing a hand of cards. Above all she cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, LuAnn SHEESLEY and Lexia (Jerry) CEDILLO; two brothers-in-law, Thomas C. LYON and James SHEESLEY; and a nephew, Thomas J. LYON.
