DEATH CLAIMS MRS. CONNELL

Leora Bell CONNELL, 79, passed away at 7 p. m. on Christmas day at the home of her daughter Mrs. Earl CARTER, 104 south C street. She suffered a stroke October 1st and had been confined to her bed since Monday.

Last rites will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. CONNELL was born April 12, 1868, in Iowa, the daughter of the late Fred and Sarah BRANT NICKELS. She and her husband moved to Davenport from Fairfield 30 years ago, and since the death of Mr. CONNELL she had been living with her children.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Earl CARTER and Mrs. Fred BATES, both of Fairfield; Mrs. Elmer HOSKINSON and Mrs. Jerry MORGAN, both of Chicago; Fred and Robert CONNELL, both of Davenport; and Mrs. Vic STROHMER of Arlington Heights, Illinois. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one grandchild (sic - great-grandchild?)

Her husband, Alonzo G. CONNELL, passed away November 16, 1930, in Davenport. She was also preceded in death by a son who died in infancy.
