Front Page, Column 2C. CHIDESTER DIES AT HOME IN FAIRFIELD
Well known Jefferson county resident ill past three yearsC. C. CHIDESTER, 71 well-known Fairfield resident, died Thursday at 3 p.m. in his home here following an extended illness. Mr. CHIDESTER had been in failing health for the past three years, seriously ill for the last three months.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1870 in Jefferson county, and moved to Fairfield from the CHIDESTER farm, 10 miles northwest of the city 12 years ago,.
Mr. CHIDESTER was formerly employed by the Dexter company in Fairfield. On Dec. 18, 1894 he married Miss Lottie NORTON. She preceded him in death on March 4, 1938 (sic - March 5, 1939). Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fred LASON (sic - LARSON) of 1003 West Hempstead street, Fairfield; one son, Gouldbourn CHIDESTER of Galesburg Ill. and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Hoskins Funeral home. The Rev. W. B. Ireland will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
