William Dudley "Bill" MARTIN, 82, of Sigourney, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines (note: in Polk Co., IA).

Bill was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Iowa City, to Joseph and Candace (BARNES) MARTIN. He attended Fairfield schools throughy 11th grade and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1957. On Dec. 1, 1962, he married Mary Frances (JONES) WEHR. The couple lived and farmed in the Sigourney area, raising hogs and Polled Hereford cattle. Bill also worked at Durolast roofing in Sigourney for 10 years after he retired from farming. He was a registered organ and tissue donor. Bill enjoyed popping kettle corn for many years, fishing, deer hunting and visiting with everyone he met.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Sigourney; three sons, Doug (Linda) of Sigourney, Tony (Delisa) of Richland and Nick (Joyce) of Packwood; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Lou JOHNSON of Fairfield; brother-in-law, Earl (Marj) JONES of Sigourney; and sisters-in-law, Linda (Bob) KLETT of Sigourney and Audrey (Jeff) EYLER of Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Grace LUCAS; two half brothers, Joseph "Buddy" MARTIN and Harold Dwight MARTIN; and three brothers-in-law, Ray LUCAS, Orville "Junior" GRAHAM and Raymond JOHNSON.

He will be cremated and no services are planned at this time. Burial will be at Pennington Cemetery at a later date (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).

A memorial fund has been established for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or donor's choice. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Bill and his family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com .
