Page 4, Column 2C. E. CARLSON DIED AT HOME TODAY
C. E. CARLSON died this morning at his home on E. Broadway following an illness of ten months' duration.
The deceased was seventy-three years of age.
Carl Emil CARLSON, son of Carl and Sophia ARONSON, was born in Sweden, August 25, 1847.
He moved to Jefferson county in 1889, and to Fairfield in 1901, where he has since made his home. On July 29, 1871, he united in marriage with Miss Christine OLSON. To this union was born nine children, seven of whom still survive. They are Mrs. E. W. KREINER of Ottumwa A. F. and C. R. CARLSON of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. S. B WISECARVER, Des Moines, Mrs. O. A. EASTON, Fairfield, and the Misses Nora and Hannah CARLSON at home. One son died in infancy, and Mrs. B. N. NEIBERT on May 6, 1913.
He is also survived by a brother Victor CARLSON, who resides in Peoria, Ill., and a brother and sister in Sweden.
Mr. CARLSON was a faithful member of the Lutheran church. He was always a faithful and loving husband and father, and will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Funeral services will be held from the late residence Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Bersell of Ottumwa. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.
