DONALD ALBERT PACHA
Fairfield

Donald Albert PACHA, 94, of Fairfield, Iowa, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at the Sunnybrook Assisted Living Home. He was born May 23, 1926, on the farm home south of Brighton, Iowa, to Albert P. and Teresa Agnes FRITZ PACHA. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Pleasant Plain High School. Don farmed all of his life; first on a farm by Ollie, Iowa, then moved to a farm northeast of Fairfield, Iowa, in 1965. Don was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield, where he was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He later became a member of the Lion's Club. Don married Geraldine SEABA on May 17, 1950, in Sigourney, Iowa. The greatly enjoyed ballroom dancing.

Don is survived by his sons, Philip PACHA of Springfield, Ill., and Mark PACHA (Rachel) of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren, Erica EIBEN of Austin, Texas, Alyssa EIBEN of Marion, Iowa, Erin EIBEN of Anamosa, Iowa, Jared and Brooke PACHA of Omaha; two brothers, Maurice PACHA (Katherine) of Washington, Iowa, Merle PACHA (Mary Ann) of Washington, Iowa; two sisters, Mary Catherine ADAM of Fairfield and Edna SIEREN (Don) of Keota, Iowa; and two great-grandchildren, Atlas and August EIBEN of Anamosa.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine PACHA; one daughter, Rosemary EIBEN; four brothers, Walter PACHA, Robert PACHA, Gerald PACHA and (infant) Jerome PACHA; and two sisters, Geraldine SCHELLER and Joanna PETERSON.

Afuneral (sic) Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield with Father Nick Adam officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the St. Mary Catholic Church Facebook page for those unable to attend. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery at East Pleasant Plain, Iowa, immediately following the service. Visitation will be held just prior to the funeral service at 10 a.m. Please note: masks will be required to attend the service and visitation. Memorial contributions in Don's honor may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital (stjude.org) or to St. Mary's Catholic Church of Fairfield.
