Niota, Ill.

Traci Sue LOTT, 48, of Niota, Ill., died on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at her home.

She was born Oct. 2, 1971, in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of Lou and Saundra BARTHOLOW BLOOMQUIST. On July 27, 1990, she married Darryl LOTT in Wapello, Iowa.

She attended grade school in Fairfield and graduated, mid-term, from Rapid City, South Dakota High school in 1990. In grade school, she obtained many first place awards in choir competitions. She later graduated from Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa (where she attended with her mother), with an A.A. degree in Criminal Justice and an A.S. degree in Psychology. She was a member and president of the Criminal Justice Club at SCC. She also planned ride-a-longs with various police departments. Her most loved job was as a juvenile transport officer, which she held for 13 years.

She also served on the Lomax Ambulance Service and the Niota Fire Department. She enjoyed being with her "fur babies," family, friends and her church family. She was a member of the Pontoosuc Church.

She is survived y (sic) husband, Darryl; her father, Lou BLOOMQUIST of Fairfield, Iowa; two brothers, Terry (Ellen) BLOOMQUIST of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Randy BLOOMQUIST of Linwood, Neb.; 10 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Amy Houk-Clark.

She was preceded in death by her mother; one brother, Robert BLOOMQUIST; sister-in-law, Thereasa BLOOMQUIST; one niece, Claire TIERNAN; and her grandparents, George and Margaret COURTNEY BARTHOLOW and Bert and Laurel RUNYON BLOOMQUIST.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at the Pontoosuc Church with Pastor Josh Yeakey officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Face masks are recommended. A private burial service will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the PAWS Animal Shelter in Fort Madison, Iowa.
