WILLIAM BROWN RITES TUESDAY

William A. BROWN, 70, well known Iowa Malleable Iron Co. employee, passed away Saturday about noon at the University hospital in Iowa City after a serious illness of the past three weeks (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 o'clock from the Weston Behner funeral home. Rev. Edward A. Piper will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. BROWN was the son of the late Curtis M. and Rebecca A. BROWN. He was born January 26, 1987 in Carlinville, Illinois, and was united in marriage to Fanny HARRIS BROWN on March 15, 1906.

He was a member of the Lutheran church and of the Eagles lodge (sic - Aerie/Club).

For the past 41 years he ahs been employed by the Iowa Malleable Iron company and worked as late as June 20, 1946.

He is survived by his wife, Fanny, and one daughter, Kathryn BROWN, Fairfield, and one son, Charles BROWN of LaSalle, Ill., for brothers: Truman M. BROWN of Santa Monica, Calif, Lyman D. BROWN, Oscar M. BROWN, and Curtis L. BROWN, all of Peoria, Ill.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 4:00 o'clock today until the time of the service.
