Mrs. BROWN, 64, Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Hugh BROWN, 64, died today at 4:50 a.m. after suffering a heart attack at her home at 1004 S. Main Street.

Services are pending at the Raymond Funeral Home.

A retired teacher, Mrs. BROWN taught in schools at Mediapolis, Davenport, Burlington and the Cardinal Community District.

Mrs. BROWN was born Oct. 26, 1903 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Elmer C. and Clara LARSON DAVIS. A graduate of Fairfield High School, she attended Parsons College and received her BA degree at the University of Iowa.

She was married to Carl LENHART, who died July 15, 1935. On Oct. 26, 1940 she was married to Hugh BROWN, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Verleah BROWN, a student at Tulsa University; one step-daughter, Mrs. Kenneth PATE, Burlington; three step-sons, Ronald BROWN, Springfield, Ill.; Richard BROWN, Maquoketa; and Max BROWN, Cedar Rapids. One brother, James R. DAVIS, Keota, also survives.

Mrs. BROWN was a member of the Methodist Church, WSCS and the Retired Teachers Association.
