Alice Kaye ROYER, 92, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at Klein Center, Burlington, Iowa (note: in Des Moines Co., IA). Open visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, Iowa. Graveside service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Friends Cemetery in Richland, Iowa (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).

Memorials may be made to Sunnyside Baptist Church, For Operation Christmas Child or Great River Hospice, Burlington, Iowa. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Terry ROYER, P.O. Box 686, Cedarburg, WI 53012.

Alice Kaye was born in Fairfield, Iowa, in April 2, 1928, the only child of Leo and Inez (JONES) SNIDER. She graduated from Fairfield High School, Class of 1943, and Parson's College (sic) in Fairfield. Alice Kaye married William ROYER on Sept. 16, 1947, in Fairfield. Alice Kaye taught school and had a love for children and shared many stories from her teaching in California and at the International School in Saudi Arabia where she taught for 10 years. Throughout her married life, she lived in Santa Monica and Huntington Beach, Calif., Yanbu and Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and Moscow, Russia, and her last 30 years in Burlington. Alice Kaye and William traveled the world extensively throughout their married life visiting 59 countries.

Alice Kaye enjoyed writing letters until her health didn't allow her to any longer. Alice Kay and William loved to dance, go to the Burlington Bee's baseball games and going out to eat. Alice Kaye looked forward to sharing stories of their travels. She had a love for animals and made sure they had food to eat.

Alice Kaye is survived by her brother-in-law, Joe (Carol) ROYER; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and husband, William.
