DEATH CLAIMS S. R. BRERETON

Samuel Roscoe BRERETON, 60, Jefferson county farmer, passed away this morning at his home seven miles southeast of Fairfield. A life-long resident of the county, he had been in ill health for two years.

BRERETON was born in Fairfield May 8, 1890, the son of William John and Nancy Jane MOORE BRERETON. He was married to Lulu Mae BLAKELY (sic - BLAKELEY) in Fairfield December 22, 1911.

He is survived by his widow and the following children: Clyde BRERETON, Fairfield Paul BRERETON, Ottumwa; Mrs. Leslie McDONALD, Waterloo; Lester BRERETON, Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Cyril RAYMOND, Fairfield; Lloyd BRERETON and William BRERETON, at home.

Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. Myrtle BARNETT, Fairfield, and one brother, Willard BRERETON, southeast of Fairfield, and 13 grandchildren.

BRERETON was a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral home. The Rev. S. P. Williamson will officiate with burial in Evergreen cemetery.
