Mrs. Matilda BOOTON, 89 Years Old, Passed Away Last Night at 6 OclockMrs. Matilda E. BOOTON, died at six oclock Tuesday evening at her home, 306 East Jefferson street, after but six days' illnes (sic) of senile pneumonia. She was eighty-nine years of age.
Despite her years Mrs. BOOTON was remarkably active both physically and mentally. She was deeply interested in the current news of the day and read the daily newspapers with keen interest until her last illness. Her mental faculties remained clear up to the last hours of her illness, and she passed away in a peaceful, painless sleep of several hours' duration.
Matilda Evelyn NELSON, daughter of Lewis and Eliza NELSON, was born in Lawrence county, Ohio, July 8, 1833. With her parents she came to Illinois when a child, living near Galesburg until her marriage with James N. BRANDALL, March 30, 1853. Soon after their marriage they came to Iowa, settling in Keokuk county where six sons were born to them, two of whom died in infancy.
Following the death of her husband in 1873, Mrs. BRANDALL was married to W. S. BOOTON. In 1894 they moved to Fairfield where Mr. BOOTON died June 27, 1912.
Mrs. BOOTON is survived by one son, Harry N. BRANDALL, with whom she made her home ever since her husband's death; also by the following grandchildren, Mrs. J. S. RUMER of Fairfield, Fay D. BRANDALL of Des Moines, Mrs. A. L. YOUNG of Sigourney and a number of great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home tomorrow afternoon at two oclock, in charge of Rev. A. L. Miller, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church of Ottumwa, of which faith Mrs. BOOTON had been a member for many years. Burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

... BOOTON, Mrs. M. E.--Died at the home of her son, Hary N. BRANDALL (sic), editor of The Tribune, Tuesday, February 6, at the age of eight-nine years. Death was due to senile pneumonia, from which she had suffered from but six days.
Mrs. BOOTON was remarkably active for one of her years, both in body and mind, and was a great student of the day's news as found in the daily newspapers, which she read with keen interest. She retained her mental faculties up to the last hours of her illness, and passed away in a peaceful sleep of several hours' duration.

Other relatives who survive her are Mrs. John S. RUMER, of Fairfield, a granddaughter, Fay D. BRANDALL, of Des Moines, a grandson, Mrs. A. L. YOUNG, of Sigourney, a granddaughter, and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home, 306 East Jefferson street, Thursday afternoon, February 8, at two o'clock, in charge of Rev. A. L. Miller, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church of Ottumwa, the faith in which she was a member for many years. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
