Charles BOOKER Dead.

A telegram was received in the city this morning announcing the death of Charles H. BOOKER which occurred at Hot Springs, Arkansas, last night.

Mr. BOOKER had been in Hot Springs several months hoping that the climate might prove beneficial to him. About a week ago his sister, Mrs. Clara HOWLETT received a message calling her to his side as he was seriously ill. Ever since Mrs. HOWLETT reached his side he slowly but surely sank in the embrace of death. He is survived by Mrs. HOWLETT his sister.

The remains will be brought to this city this evening or tomorrow morning. No arrangements have yet been made for the funeral although it will not probably be held until some time Monday.

Brought to Old Home For Burial.

Charles H. BOOKER of this city died in St. Joseph's infirmary, Hot Springs, Ark., Saturday morning, after an illness of five weeks from fever. His condition was not considered alarming until about a week before he passed away. His sister, Mrs. Clara B. HOWLETT, now the only surviving member of the BOOKER family, was then summoned by telegraph and was at his bedside when he died. The body was brought here for burial Monday. Funeral services were held at the home on South Main street, conducted by Rev. W. F. Jones, at 10:30 in the morning. Mr. BOOKER was born at St. Clairsville, O., September 20th, 1851, came to this county with his father, the late S. F. BOOKER, in 1863, and lived for several years on a farm a few miles east of this city. In 1877 he went to Cleveland, O., where he remained until 1903. He was married there February 14th, 1883, to Lena SNYDER, who died five years ago. Shortly before he returned to this city Mr. BOOKER was stricken with paralysis and never recovered from the attack. He spent a winter or two at Hot Springs in the hope that the waters might prove beneficial to him. Mr. BOOKER had a wide acquaintance in this vicinity and the friends who sympathized with him in his long illness will regret his death, even though it brought relief from a lingering and painful disease.
