FairfieldThomas "Tom" Lewis RIDGEWAY, 85, of Keosauqua, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at his home. There will be no service at this time. Inurnment will be at Bonaparte Cemetery at a later date (note: in Van Buren Co., IA). Cards and letters of sympathy many be sent to Shirley RIDGEWAY, 303 Henry, Keosauqua.
Tom was born Nov. 2, 1934, in Mount Zion, Iowa, to Cecil and Hazel (GIBERSON) RIDGEWAY. He married Shirley RANDOLPH on June 18, 1953, in Kahoka, Mo.
Tom served in the Army form (sic) 1954 to 1956, during the Korean War (sic - Korean Conflict). He was a barber for 50 years and was the owner of Ridgeway Barber Shop. Tom was a member of Fairfield Walton Club, VFW and the Elks. His outdoor activities included golfing and spending time on the Des Moines River. He enjoyed playing cards and watching football and NASCAR. Tom loved horses and enjoyed watching Western movies, especially those that featured John Wayne.
Tom will be missed by his wife of almost 67 years, Shirley RIDGEWAY of Keosauqua; his two sons, Stan RIDGEWAY (Cheryl) of Iowa City and Ron RIDGEWAY (Ashlyn) of Raleigh, N.C.; granddaughter, Nicole PERSHING (Eric); two great-grandchildren, Leah and Ashlynn; and two siblings, Margaret BOYER and Glen "Buster" RIDGEWAY.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Hazel RIDGEWAY; infant daughter, Kay Lynn; and two brothers, Melvin and Keith RIDGEWAY.
