Death of a Traveling Man.

John Dedrich BECKER died in this city Thursday afternoon. He had been in ill health for five years or more and for a year and a half had been confined to his home and was a great sufferer. Mr. BECKER was born in Hastings, Miss., September 18th, 1860, where he resided until 1887. He was married to Miss Emma E. ERB, who survives him, December 28th, 1882, at Farmington, Miss. They were the parents of three children two of whom, Maud and Floyd, are living. The family came to this city in 1895. While here Mr. BECKER was on the road for the Osborn Manufacturing company and the Milwaukee Harvester company. He had an extensive acquaintance among traveling men and dealers in implements, was a fine salesman and a popular fellow. Mr. BECKER was a member of the Congregational church at the time of his death. He was a Mason and a Woodman and his body was interred Sunday afternoon with masonic honors. Rev. H. O. Spelman had charge of the funeral. There are many friends in this city who sympathized with this excellent man and who will sincerely mourn his death.

Mrs. BECKER wishes to publicly thank members of the Masonic and Woodman societies and friends and neighbors who have been so kind and thoughtful of her during her husband's long illness.
