OTTUMWA -- Thurman C. BAKER, 79, former Fairfield resident, died early today at St. Joseph Hospital here.
Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
BAKER was employed at the Fairfield and Ottumwa Iron and Metal Works for 45 years before his retirement in 1956.
BAKER was born Nov. 9, 1890 at Gorin, Mo., the son of Marion and Alice HUET BAKER. He was married to Gladys BARKER April 25, 1911 in Fairfield. She died March 16, 1970.
Surviving are three children: Charles BAKER and Mrs. Mildred HOWELL, Ottumwa; and Mrs. Ruth LEE, Catati, Calif. Nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Grace MILLER, Libertyville, also survive.
