After a Ten Days' Illness; Funeral Arrangement Not Yet CompleteHenry S. BACON, aged 72 years, passed away this morning at 3:45 o'clock at his home 300 West Broadway, after an illness of 10 days' duration.
The body was taken tot he Butler funeral home until funeral arrangements are completed.
Mr. BACON was born Jan. 24, 1846 in Scott county, N. Y. He was united in marriage in 1967 to Miss Luthera D. (sic - Luthera P.) LANDERS who passed away 18 months afterwards. He was married in Iowa to Miss Carrie F. STOFFEL Nov. 7, 1869 who died in this city May 18, 1910. To them were born the following children who survive: Mrs. Charles BELDING, Mrs. Frank SHRINER and Mrs. Hal H. BROWN of this city. He also leaves a grandson Robert H. CONLEE of Mountainaire, N. M., who with the daughters were with him at the time of death.
Mr. BELDING (sic - Mr. BACON) was a member of Company G, 158th N. Y. Infantry and served in the Civil War. He was a member of the local G. A. R. post.

Polly of the Christian church. Burial will take place in Evergreen cemetery.

At 2:30 O'clock From the Butler Funeral Home and Was Largely AttendedMany friends and relatives attended the funeral services for Henry S. BACON which were held from the Butler funeral home yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church.
A number of the members of the Woman's Relief Corps the Daughter of Union Veterans and old soldiers paid their last respects at this time. The pall bearers were the following World War men:
C. F. Goodman, Fred Neibert, A. E. Turner, Edmund Hunt, John Barwise and Hardin Farmer. The American Legion firing squad had charge of services at the grave at Evergreen cemetery.~~~~

H. S. BACON
Henry S. BACON was born in Scott Courtland county, New York, January 24, 1846, and pssed away at his home in Fairfield, Iowa, December 13, 1928.
In 1867 he was united in marriage to Luthera D. LANDERS who died 18 months afterward. He then moved to Iowa where on November 7, 1869 he was married to Carrie F. STOFFEL who passed away in this city May 18, 1910. To them were born the following children who survive: Mrs. Charles BELDING, Mrs. Frank SHINER (sic - SHRINER) and Mrs. Hal H. BROWN. He also leaves a grandson, Robert H. CONLEE of Mountainaire, N. Mexico, who with the daughters were present with him at the time of his death.
He was a memebr (sic) of company G, 185th Infantry and served in the Civil war. He held membership in the local G. A. R.
Funeral services were held from the Butler funeral home, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church. Members of the G. A. R, W. R. C. and D. U. V. were present. The pall bearers were the following World War men: C. F. Goodman, Fred Neibert, A. E. Turner, Edmund Hunt, John Barwise and Hardin Farmer. The American Legion firing squad had charge of the burial services. Interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery.
