Alice ATWOOD

Alice M. ATWOOD, 91, of Friendship Village, Schaumburg, Ill., formerly of Fairfield, died early Thursday morning, March 18, 1993, at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor's choice.

Miss ATWOOD was born Aug. 17, 1901, near Piper City, Ill., the daughter of Wyllie and Loressa ATWOOD. She was reared on the family farm south of Fairfield and graduated from parsons college. She taught school in Fairfield for four years before going on to earn a master of arts degree at the University of Chicago. She had a successful business career in Washington, D.C., and Chicago. After retiring, she lived in Waukegan, Ill., Fairfield, and Schaumburg, where she devoted her time to church, family, community and friends. She lived in Fairfield from 1975 to 1985, sharing a home with her brother Wilson, so she could be near him and her brother Harold and family. During that time she was very active in First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews.
