Death Comes To W. J. ANKROM

William J. ANKROM, long-time resident of the Fairfield community and a Spanish-American war veteran, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Monday at the Soldier's Home in Marshalltown (note: in Marshall Co., IA) where he had been a resident for the past several years.

Last rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Raymond Funeral home with Dr. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

William J. ANKROM, 84, was born April 25, 1875, in Utah, the son of William and Nancy GIBERT ANKROM. He came to Iowa and this community when a small child and was reared and educated here.

He was married to Lidia MULLENIX on Aug. 22, 1901, at Keosauqua. She passed away May 26, 1952.

ANKROM was a retired farmer, a member of the Presbyterian church, the Masons, and was a veteran of the Spanish-American war.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.

Notice Is Hereby Given, that the undersigned has been duly appointed and qualified as Executor of the estate of W. J. ANKROM, deceased, late of Jefferson County. All persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment and those having claims against he same will present them within legal time duly authenticated, to the the undersigned, for allowance and file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court.
