Page 3, Column 2FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN SEATTLE
Word has been received here by relatives of the death of Mrs. Nancy ANKROM which occurred Wednesday night at her home in Seattle, Wash., following a stroke of paralysis.
The remains will be brought here Saturday night and taken to the home of her niece Mrs. Mollie LIBLIN and the funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 from the Presbyterian church, Rev. Mosser and Rev. McCampbell having charge of the services, and the remains will be interred in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. ANKROM has long been a resident of Cedar Township and her death will be learned with regret by a large circle of friends. She was a woman who was greatly loved by everyone.
Nancy GILBERT was the daughter of John and Ann GILBERT and was born at County Antrom (sic - Antrim), near Belfast, Ireland, April 9, 1840 (sic - 1839). When a small child her parents came to Iowa. At the age of 15 years she was left an orphan. In early womanhood she was united in marriage to William ANKROM who passed away six years ago the 16th of March.
To this union were born three children Eva and Grace of Seattle, Wash., and William of Cedar township. She also leaves two brothers George GILBERT of Holyoke, Colo., and John GILBERT of Oklahoma.
About five years ago Mrs. ANKROM went to Seattle, Wash., to make her home with her daughters. Her daughter Grace will accompany the remains to this city.
