J.P. ANGSTEAD dies at 83

J. Paul "Bud" ANGSTEAD, 83, native of Fairfield, died at 4:40 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital.

ANGSTEAD was an auto body repairman for a number of years and was employed at the Jefferson Motor Co. for 13 years prior to his retirement in 1968. The family home is at 507 South E Street.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. James Battey will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Heart Fund.

J. Paul ANGSTEAD was born Dec. 12, 1899, in Fairfield. He was the son of Robert and Grace TROXEL ANGSTEAD. He lived his entire life in Fairfield.

ANGSTEAD married Hildred L. BONNETT Jan. 17, 1924, in the Methodist Church at Ottumwa. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife; one son Jack D. ANGSTEAD, Aurora, Colo.; a daughter Marilyn GOHN, Fairfield; four grandchildren and a great grandson.

Other survivors include two brothers, Charles ANGSTEAD, Des Moines, and Robert ANGSTEAD, Batavia; a sister, Elizabeth MORGEL, Omaha, Nebr.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
