W. R. ALFRED Dies At 68

MOUNT PLEASANT -- W. R. (Bill) ALFRED, Mount Pleasant Route 4, died Sunday at 10:45 a.m. in University Hospital, Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

ALFRED, 68, was born March 11, 1905, the son of James and Jennie ARMSTRONG ALFRED. He married Winona BARNES Sept. 3, 1938. She preceded him in death in April of this year.

ALFRED was formerly employed by IAAP. He is survived by an aunt, Mrs. Albert SAUER of Fairfield and cousins. One son and one brother preceded him in death.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Beatty-Jennings Chapel in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Alton Koch officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

There will be Masonic services Monday at 8 p.m., at the Beatty-Jennings Chapel by Mount Pleasant Lodge 8, AF and AM.

Note: William was first married to Genevieve L. WILSON; they divorced in 1938. She remarried to George W. ANDERSON and is buried in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with him. William and Winona are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Lot 2nd.126.
