William ADAM dies

William Peter ADAM, 85, died at 11 a.m. Sunday at Nelson Nursing Home.

Funerals (sic) services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Prayers for a Christian Wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday followed by Knights of Columbus Rosary at Raymond Funeral Home.

ADAM was born Oct. 5, 1895 in Harper, the son of Nicholas and Teresa BERG ADAM. He married Christina GREINER Jan. 30, 1917 at Clear Creek. She died Aug. 11, 1978. He lived in Keota, Richland and moved to Fairfield in 1953. A retired farmer, he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.

Surviving are six daughters, Eleanor SOBASKI, Isabelle LEPPERT and Lucille ADRIAN, all of Richland, Jeannette FRENCH of Rockford, Ill., Marian HAMMES of Keota, Francine FREEMAN of Orlando, Fla.; five sons, Walter and Ronald, both of Fairfield, Omer and Don, both of Richland and Richard of Hedrick; 63 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray ADAM of Taylor Ridge, Ill.; two sisters, Mary PEIFFER of Washington and Elizabeth LYTTLE of Hollister, Mo. Four brothers, one sister and one grandchild preceded him in death.
