ABBEY CHILD DIES OF EXPLOSION INJURIES

Kenneth Calvin ABEY (sic - ABBEY), the year old grandson of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. ABBEY of Fairfield, died last night at 9:15 at the Ottumwa hospital as the result of burns received about 4:30 oclock when an oil stove eploded (sic) at the child's parents home on East Main street, Ottumwa.

The baby and an older child were in the house alone temporarily and the older child was almost overcome by the smoke and flames. The kitchen contents were destroyed by the fire that resulted.

The funeral of the child probably will be held here.
