William McWHIRTER Dies In D. Moines

William McWHIRTER, 68, lifelong Jefferson county resident, died suddenly at 8 p.m. Tuesday in a Des Moines hospital (note: in Polk Co., IA). He had been in failing health the last two years.

Mr. McWHIRTER had been in the hospital for two weeks with heart trouble.

He is survived by the following: two daughters, Mrs. Ralph KANN and Mrs. Harry KANN of Fairfield, and Mrs. Edward KASPER of Los Angeles; one son, Hugh, of Fairfield; three grandchildren, Bernard and Kathryn McWHIRTER and Logan KANN, all of Fairfield; and by one brother, Robert McWHIRTER, of Fairfield. Another son, Clifford William, died in 1915.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hoskins Funeral Home in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Interment will be in Wright cemetery.

Note: William was married twice, first to Effie Ada STOUT who died in 1918, and second to Hattie L. MONFORT, who died in 1932. Both wives are buried in Wright Cemetery with him.
