Samuel SWARTZ Dies At Home

KEOSAUQUA, Ia. -- Samuel SWARTZ, long-time resident of Van Buren county, passed away about 5:15 a.m. today at his farm home near Keosauqua. He had been in ill health for the past several months.

The body is at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua where last rites are pending.

Samuel SWARTZ, 86, was born July 14, 1873, near Libertyville in Jefferson county. He was the son of Solomon and Hettie BLACK SWARTZ. He was united in marriage in 1897 to Bertha Mae SCHWARTZ who survives. The wedding took place at Libertyville.

They moved to Van Buren county and had made their home in this community since.

In addition to his wife, SWARTZ is survived by thee sons, Lawrence, Marshalltown; Vernon, Bonaparte; and Walter, Silver Springs, Maryland, and one daughter, Mrs. Freda KLINE, also of Silver Springs.

Other survivors include three grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Lilly CASE, Sacramento, Calif.; and one half-brother, Lee LOVELESS, Washington, Iowa.

SWARTZ Funeral To Be Saturday

KEOSAUQUA, Ia. -- Last rites for Samuel SWARTZ, 86, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Center Chapel Methodist church with the Rev. E. S. Tschetter in charge. Burial will be in the Winsell cemetery near Selma.

SWARTZ passed away early Wednesday morning at his farm home hear Keosauqua. He was a long-time resident of this community.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Burnett-Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua.
