Funeral is Tomorrow At Mt. Zion for Well-known ResidentLIBERTYVILLE, Ia., Jan. 12-- John W. MORRISON, 84 years old died at his home 3 1-2 miles southwest of Libertyville yesterday after a six weeks illness. Mr. MORRISON died on the farm where he was born and reared. His father William C. MORRISON, had taken the farm over from the government.
The body will be taken from the W. W. Campbell home in Eldon, to the Mt. Zion church where the funeral services will be held at 10:00 o'clock tomorrow in charge of Rev. George W. Barber, of Eldon. Burial will be in the Winsell Chapel.
His wife preceded him in death 17 years ago (sic - second wife Nancy J. HICKERSON, died June, 1918), and he leaves the following children Mrs. Minnie EMMON (sic - EMMONS) of Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Nettie GRIMES of Birmingham. Clarence MORRISON of Prescott, Mich., Mrs. Oren E. ROBERSON of Elide, N. M., and one daughter Mrs. Donna SALLADAY-church preceded him in death about two years ago in Michigan. (sic)
He was also preceded in death by a brother William, in Douds about three months ago; and another brother Eugene of Burlington, several years ago.

John Woods MORRISON
John Woods MORRISON, son of Charlotte and William C. MORRISON, was born near Libertyville, Iowa, October 25, 1850, and died January 11, 1934 age 83 years 2 months and 16 days. Mr. MORRISON's entire life was spent on the old homestead and he was the last to survive eight brothers and sisters.
He leaves to mourn his death four children Minnie A. EMMONS of Battle Creek, Michigan Clarence MORRISON of Prescott, Michiga, (sic) Nettie E. GRIMES of Birmingham, Iowa. Orin E. ROBERSON of Elida, New Mexico. Dona SALLADAY CHURCH of Prescott Michigan, preceded her father in death. He leaves fourteen grand children, seventeen great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Mrs. EMMONS and Mrs. GRIMES were with their father on his last illness, and Mrs. ROBERSON spent the Christmas holidays at the parental home. Clarence and Annabelle MORRISON were home on a visit two years ago.
No father was ever more sacrificing and devoted to the best interests of his family and no neighbor or friend ever appealed to him in vain.
The family is very appreciative of the help given them by the neighbors.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock at the Mt. Zion church, conducted by Rev. G. W. Barber of Eldon. He was buried in the Winschell (sic - Winsell) Chapel cemetery.

… Many neighbors and friends paid their last respects to a good old pioneer neighbor John MORRISON Saturday. He had lived his entire life on the old homestead and will be missed. Mrs. EMMONS and Mrs. GRIMES have cared for him during his illness.
