FairfieldRichard Dwayne BOYD Jr., 50, of Fairfield, passed away Jan. 17, 2020. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Behner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Burial will follow the services at Packwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to Jesse BOYD, 1201 ½ S. Main, Fairfield, IA 52556.
Richard was born July 16, 1969, to Richard Dwayne and Lauretta Joyce FRAY O'LAUGHLIN BOYD Sr., in Ottumwa, Iowa. He married Tycene MORRIS. They later divorced.
Richard graduated from Fairfield High School. He worked several years at Tiger Hawk. Richard collected, knives, lighters and lights. He watched various movies, enjoyed woodworking and helping others in need.
Richard will be missed by his children, Jesse BOYD of Fairfield and Arianna (Damian) TEAGUE of Valley, Ala.; stepdaughter, Shawna (Brandon) ULMER of Brighton, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Isabella, Zakaria, William, Mason, Teagan, Logan and Alizah; his father, Richard (Nancy Meddings) BOYD Sr. of Ottumwa; three siblings, Shari (Dennis) BOND of Wayland, Kathy BROWN of Birmingham and Toni GIBERSON of West Point; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Lauretta BOYD; brother, Loren Dwayne, in infancy; paternal grandparents, John and Clara BOYD; and maternal grandparents, Ivan and Lucille FRAY.
