Page 6, col. 5.HE WAS AN EARLY CITIZEN OF FAIRFIELD. Jesse Young died at the home of a son, Arch A. Young, in Indianapolis, Ind., the 3d inst. He was a resident of this city from 1852 to 1880, going hence to Des Moines, where he made his home until 1896. Mr. Young was born in Brown County, Ohio, May 11th, 1816, and grew to maturity in Johnson County, Ind. He was married to Mrs. Sarah Banta, who died in this city in 1853 [sic]. Two sons were the result of this marriage: W. S. Young of Franklin and A. A. Young of Indianapolis, Ind. In 1855 Mr. Young was married to Miss Sarah Murphy of Fairfield, who died in 1880. Seven children by this marriage are living – Joseph in Colorado, Noble in Oklahoma, Douglas, William and George and Mrs. Margaret Gaffayway in this state, and Mrs. Cora Felly in Franklin. Mr. Young was a member of the Presbyterian church and an excellent man and citizen. The body was interred at Indianapolis Thursday.
