Scott Irwin BROBSTON, the youngest child born of Donald Irwin and Judith Elaine (MALLONEE) BROBSTON, was born Jan. 21, 1964, in Fairfield. Scott grew up in Libertyville with his brother, Daniel and sister, Debra, where he attended grade school and played youth baseball. He then attended Fairfield High School and graduated with the Class of 1982. During this time, he met and fell in love with his high school sweetheart, Joyce Ellen BARR, at the local bowling alley. They were married on May 25, 1985, at the United Methodist Church in Libertyville and then made their home in Norwalk. To this union they had two sons, Matthew (Matt) and Anthony (Tony).

Scott worked at the Des Moines service center for United Parcel Service for five years, and then attended Des Moines Area Community College; earning his computer programming degree. He worked for Principal Financial Group for 22 years achieving the title of Assistant Director of Information Technology Data Center. In 2015, Scott left Principal to pursue other interests.

Scott enjoyed traveling in the family RV, riding bicycles, eating frosted sugar cookies made by Grandma Fern, golfing, fishing, riding dirt bikes and attending classic car shows such as the Buick Nationals in Bowling Green, Ky. He had a love of classic muscle cars and was a member of the Buick Club of America and Grand Sport Cars of America (GSCA). Over the years, he has owned over 40 classic cars which he bought, sold or restored. He could even smell an old Buick in a small town over a mile away!

Scott's legacy is his loving family and lifetime as a wonderful leader and mentor. He was caring and committed to help all those he met reach their highest potential. Scott worked for perfection with car restorations, home improvement projects, and relationships with others, prefering quality over quantity. Scott was a giver in life and continues his giving in death as an organ and tissue donor.

Scott is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 35 years, Joyce of Norwalk; two sons, Matt (Staci) of Des Moines and Tony of Norwalk; his parents, Don and Judi of Libertyville; his mother-in-law, Judy (Dave) CALLEN; sister-in-law, Nancy (Carlos) CLINE; brother-in-law, Gary WATSON; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; a bonus son, Brandon; his devoted dog, Nellie; and four grand-kitties.

Scott was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Carla BARR and Melissa WATSON; and his father-in-law, Carl BARR.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials are made, in Scott's memory to the Iowa Make-a-Wish Foundation, 3009 100th St., Urbandale IA 50322; or to the family for donation allocation.
