Killed by the Cars.

This morning's west bound express on the Rock Island killed John GRAHAM, a Friend, and an old resident of Penn township, at the bridge over Walnut creek just north of Perlee. The accident occurred about 10:30. Mr. GRAHAM, who was about 70 years of age and quite deaf, was crossing the bridge. It is the opinion of those who witnessed the accident that he saw the train approaching and heard the engineer's warning whistle, but was too much confused to escape. His head was badly crushed, the brains coming out, and death was almost instant. The remains were brought to this city, and the coroner is holding his inquest upon them as we go to press.
