Mrs. Eva BLACK Dies In Ames Hospital, Rites At Brighton

Mrs. Eva BLACK, formerly of near Pleasant Plain, died yesterday at the Mary Greely hospital in Ames (note: in Story Co., IA). She had been critically ill for the past several weeks and was 76 years old at the time of her death.

Last rites will be held at the Hoskins funeral home in Brighton Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Calvin Hull, pastor of the Friends church at Pleasant Plain will conduct the services and burial will be in the family lot in Walnut cemetery, south of Pleasant Plain.

Mary Eva MACY was the daughter of Samuel and Rebecca MACY, born Nov. 15, 1875 near Pleasant Plain. She was married to Noble HAMILTON June 30, 1892 at Fairfield. He passed away in March, 1908. They were the parents of three sons and a daughter, Byron HAMILTON and Mrs. Paul TAYLOR of Ames, Harry HAMILTON and Wayne HAMILTON, Fairfield. In April, 1914 she married William T. BLACK who preceded her in death 12 years ago. Since that time she has made her home with her daughter in Ames.

She was a birthright member of the Friends church, a member of the American Legion auxiliary at Ames and the Women's Relief Corps in Fairfield.

In addition to her children, survivors include ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister and three brothers, Mrs. N. S. MILLER and O. L. MACY of his city, Arthur MACY of Ponca, Neb., and M. C. MACY of Oskaloosa.
